DEER CREEK ACADEMY MEMBERS ARE VICTORIOUS!

Matthew Scobie, a Deer Creek Academy Junior Member placed 2nd at the Jr. Linksters Tour Tournament at Rolling Hills in Stouffville this past weekend.

Matthew, in his first ever golf tournament, finished 2nd (in a tie) just behind Wade Chen a past DCA member. Evan Wright another DCA member finished 10th. Matthew has had a few lessons with Cameron Carty, CPGA Teaching Professional, and is extremely pleased that he could finish so high in his first tournament. They’ll be plenty more tournaments for Matthew in the future.

NEW LEAGUES FOR JUNIORS AND PARENT/CHILD

PARENT / CHILD LEAGUE

The Parent Child League provides the opportunity for Parents and their kids to set aside a Friday once a week to get the chance to play 9 holes of golf with their child and also meet other families in the area and to have a lot fun. This is the first of its’ kind in the GTA / Durham region. There are limited spots available, so please register early!

Registration Fee

$75.00 for Parent-Child Team

· Year-end prizes

· Year-end parent-child golf tournament

· Year-end banquet and awards

· League administration

· Rules and etiquette orientation

Orientation will be held on Friday June 8th at The Deer Creek Academy League Starts June 15th 5:30pm Shotgun

Registration limited to first 36 parent-child teams.

Weekly Fees

Parents$16.00, Juniors $12.00

Weekly Prize Fee: $2.00

Every week during the league will be a different format. We will alternate between a best-ball format, scramble, alternate shot and an individual format. Gross scores as well as net scores will be recorded every week. There will also be weekly contests for longest drive, closest to the pin, fewest putts, etc.

JUNIOR LEAGUE

The Junior League provides an opportunity for junior golfers in the Durham Region to play golf once a week throughout the summer to have fun and also provide a little bit of a competitive atmosphere.

Registration Fee

$50.00 for members and non-members

· Year-end prizes for everyone

· Year-end Parent/Child tournament

· Year-end banquet and awards

Registration limited to first 72 players to register.

Weekly Fees

Non-members $15.00, Members $10.00

Weekly Prize Fee: $2.00 (members and non-members)

Gross scores along with net scores will be recorded each week. It will take a minimum of 3 weeks to develop a handicap for each player. The year end banquet will have prizes for gross as well as net scores. There will be contests held every week such as long drive, closest to the pin, fewest putts etc.

GLEN CEDARS GOLF CLUB

Along with the major clubhouse renovations that were completed over this past winter, Glen Cedars is pleased to offer golfers a brand new menu with some great choices to enjoy before or after your game.
