Mystic Golf Club

This one’s different. Very different. And more than a little special. The new Mystic Golf Club in Ancaster has broken the mold for daily fee golf in Ontario. Rather than trying to shoehorn a course between rows of fairway homes, or even selling a nam architect, Mystic is offering a unique experience for the serious, passionate golfer.

You might not know the name Tom Pearson, but picture a layout created by an architect adding his own imagination to nearly a quarter-century of experience as Jack Nicklaus’ lead designer. And envision what he could do with a whopping 300 acres of undeveloped, natural southern Ontario woodlands and wetlands, through a deep valley and up above the landscape, offering stunning, panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, yet within a mile of Rt. 403 and within an hour of anywhere in the GTA.

The par-3s and par-5s at Mystic offer contrasting risks and rewards. And while nearly every par-4 is a dogleg and most involve elevation changes, no two holes are even remotely similar in distance or design, offering an unlimited assortment of shot-making decisions. There are no blind tee shots, no tricked-up holes. A lot of dirt was moved to make sure the layout was straight-forward, 3-thousand tons of Pro-Angle bunker sand was brought in from Ohio, and an expansive drainage and irrigation system ensures an extremely challenging round (check out the rating and slope numbers to the right) whenever you’re ready to be tested.

You may have been enticed by “member for a day” programs, but not with the passion of Mystic. You’re invited to enjoy unlimited play with cart and unlimited use of the club’s amazing practice facility featuring a double-ended range with fairway and greenside bunkers, putting greens and three practice holes. Want to come out after work and sharpen your game without the all-day commitment? Practice, by yourself or under the helpful tutoring of Head Pro John Hayward and his professional teaching staff (who offer individual instruction, group clinics and multi-day golf schools), then test those newly-honed skills on the par-3, par-4 and par-5 championship-style holes. The fees are surprisingly reasonable and programs and packages are available for individuals and groups that can make Mystic Golf Club your golf home.

The variety of clubs you’ll need to play Mystic is limited by the Rules of Golf. The variety of emotions you’ll display are limited by your own imagination. If you bring a passion for golf to Mystic, you’ll leave with a passion for Mystic Golf.
