Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler Counties Golf Invitational Poised to Pass $1 Million Mark

11th Annual Michelob Ultra InvitationalThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler Counties 11th Annual Michelob Ultra Invitational will be held Monday, Oct. 12th at the LPGA International Course, in Daytona Beach, and is on target to raise more than $1,000,000 since its inception in 1998. Proceeds from this event go to support Club programs and services that promote the development of youth through character building experiences and life enhancing opportunities.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs are making a difference every day with the kids who need us most”, said event founder and Chairman Kevin Bowler, “The proceeds from this event will help the Club to continue its good work in changing the lives of children for the better.”

Bowler has been on the forefront of philanthropy in the community, not only with establishment of this tournament, but his leadership with the Father Lopez capital campaign. Bowler is, without question, a true champion for kids, our community and its residents. He has been at the helm volunteering his time, talents and resources to grow this event each year while managing to simultaneously stay behind the scenes and out of the spotlight. His work makes a difference with the kids and families who need help.

The Invitational, now in its 11th year, receives major sponsor support from Daytona Beverages, Stuart Arp and The Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Waste Pro, the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, LPGA International, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona and Daytona Dodge.

“We could not grow our programs and open new Clubs without the generous support of our business partners” remarked Tom Fleishel, Board President. “This event gets bigger and better every year and every dollar raised goes directly to help our youth. Our organization has established a total of nine Club units after just 11 years in operation, with the majority of funding coming from donations and events like this one.” Fleishel added.
