Legendary Fitness Trainer Pat Etcheberry Joins Team at Mission Inn Resort & Club

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS – Renowned fitness trainer Pat Etcheberry has brought his acclaimed “Etcheberry Experience, Strength and Conditioning for Serious Sports” program to Mission Inn Resort & Club, located just 45 minutes north of Orlando. His proven regimen will complement the Gary Gilchrest Golf Academy and Justine Henin’s 6th Sense Tennis Academy, both based at the resort, which cater to junior champions.

Prior to joining the team at Mission Inn Resort & Club, Etcheberry spent the past eight years at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Florida. During his career, he has worked with some of the world’s best professional tennis players, including Henin, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis and Jelena Jankovic. Recently, Etcheberry was with Jankovic at the 2008 US Open Grand Slam Championships, where she reached her first US Open Singles Final. Among the professional golfers he has worked with are Nick Faldo, Helen Alfredsson, Julieta Granada and Justin Rose.

“Mission Inn Resort & Club, which is already home to the renowned Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, is an ideal place to train and work with athletes,” said Pat Etcheberry. “Having worked with Justine Henin and Carlos Rodriguez previously, I’m thrilled to team with them, as well as Gary Gilchrist, to produce tomorrow’s champions.”

WTA World No. 1 Justine Henin founded the 6th Sense Tennis Academy in November 2007 in her native Belgium, along with her long-time coach Carlos Rodriguez. Mission Inn is home of their first tennis academy in the U.S. The academy provides a complete program of tennis instruction for children and young adults based on the proven, specific and differential philosophy developed by Henin and Rodriguez.

The Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy is a breeding ground for champions from around the world. Gilchrist students play in various tournaments, including AJGA, FCWT and IJGT, accompanied by academy staff. Full-time, short-term and seasonal programs, as well as summer camps are offered.

“Pat Etcheberry is a legendary trainer who has designed successful fitness programs for many of the best-known professional athletes in the world,” according to Cesar Villarroel, Mission Inn’s director of tennis and fitness. “We are very proud he has chosen Mission Inn Resort & Club as his new home base.”
