Shingle Creek Golf Club Shines Again With Four-Star Rating From Golf Digest

Shingle CreekShingle Creek Golf Club, which is approaching its fifth anniversary in December, keeps getting better with age, particularly in the eyes of Golf Digest. Shingle Creek has received four stars from the Golf Digest guide as one of the best places to play 2008/2009. The extensive guide offers complete profiles of more than 4,000 of the best courses in North America, with comments and ratings from numerous avid golfers.

The profiles include such things as addresses, green fees, pars, yardage, USGA slope ratings, caddies, carts, lodging and practice ranges.

"Everyone enjoys receiving a four-star rating and we are particularly honored that our golf course and facility has achieved that level of recognition from as a publication as prestigious as Golf Digest," says Dave Scott, Director of Golf at Shingle Creek Golf Club. "From the moment Shingle Creek opened in December, 2003, we strived to provide golfers with the best playing conditions in a setting that is both eminently fair and challenging. In being rated as four stars, it's obvious that we have succeeded."

Shingle Creek Golf Club Shines Again With Four-Star Rating From Golf DigestGolf Digest's four-star rating is another feather in Shingle Creek's fairways. The 18-hole, par-72, 7,228-yard, David Harman designed Golf Club has racked up numerous awards since it burst upon the crowded Central Florida golf scene nearly a half-decade ago.

In June 2005, Shingle Creek was named a "Top 40 Best New Course" by Golfweek magazine. One month later it was named one of the "Top 10 Toughest Courses" by the Orlando Business Journal.

Recently, Rosen Shingle Creek was awarded the prestigious "Greens of Distinction" by Corporate & Incentive Travel Magazine for the fourth year in a row. Shingle Creek's course condition was one of the leading criteria in receiving the acknowledgement, along with location, function set-up and food and beverage. According to the magazine, Rosen Shingle Creek had high marks in every category.

That's not all. Shingle Creek's pro shop has been named one of the Top 100 Golf Shops in the United States by Golf World magazine the past three years.

"To sum things up succinctly, Shingle Creek Golf Club, combined with the entire Rosen Shingle Creek facility, is the complete package," says Scott. "As Golf Digest says, it's four stars all the way."

Shingle Creek Golf Club is also home to the Brad Brewer Golf Academy, which is quickly gaining acclaim in the industry. Brewer was recently named one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 Teachers for 2007-2008 and also has been named the Lead Instructor for www.GolfChannel.com, the Internet arm of the Golf Channel. The Web site pulls from the cable network, boasting a worldwide distribution of more than 110 million households, thereby presenting Brewer with an extensive assembly to share his knowledge and passion for the game. Over the next three years, Brewer will provide 600 instructional tips annually, provide four to five weekly editorials and help improve an interactive learning experience for golfers of all levels of play.

Making Shingle Creek Golf Club even more attractive to players, the course features undulating fairways and interconnecting waterways bordered by the natural backdrop of dense oaks and pines along historic Shingle Creek. The club features a state-of-the-art practice facility, the Brad Brewer Golf Academy, a world-class clubhouse, golf carts with GPS yardage system, complimentary valet parking, full-service golf shop, and club and shoe rentals.
