Beckwith named PGA Section pro of year

The 1,500 members of the North Florida PGA Section voted Tim Beckwith of The Oaks Club in Osprey as the section’s Golf Professional of the Year. This is the highest honor a club pro can earn in the North Florida PGA Section.

Beckwith, the director of golf at The Oaks, is a member of the Southwestern Chapter of the North Florida PGA. There are four chapters in the section.

"I am incredibly humbled by this award," said Beckwith. "The support from the membership at The Oaks Club along with our first class staff as well as my family is what made it possible. I believe in the game of golf; its rules, and the honor code it asks of its players. I believe in the PGA and its mission to grow the game.  There is no greater honor than to be recognized by my peers who work for the same goals."

Beckwith is a skilled golfer, instructor and author of The Front Nine, a book about golf and life lessons. The Book is available at amazon.com or the-front-nine.com.

"There are so many magnificent golf professionals in our area," he said. "Knowing they selected me is unbelievable as it is awarded for best all around golf professional and not one facet of the job. These people are doing the same things I am doing everyday; working toward the same goals, the mission of the PGA, the satisfaction of their memberships. So to be recognized by my peers surpasses my greatest expectations."

This award follows Beckwith being named the Southwestern Chapter Pro of the Year.
