Toale retires

Mike Toale, who spent 22 years as Jack Binswanger’s pro and partner at Village Green Golf Cub in Sarasota, retired last week.

Born and raised in Bradenton, he grew up playing golf at the Bradenton Country Club and earned a scholarship to the University of Florida, where he was a member off the Gators’ 1968 NCAA championship team.

After serving in the Air Force in Vietnam, Toale won the 1972 Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s Men’s Championship.

Before moving to Village Green in 1990, Toale was the general manager and head pro at Foxfire Golf Club in Sarasota for 10 years.

He is 65-years-old.
