Westin Diplomat Set to Host Crush & Cuisine

The Westin Diplomat Resort & SpaA food and wine festival of epic proportion is happening in South Florida this weekend. Prepare to have your palette peppered with flavors from around the world as the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa hosts the first annual East Coast Crush & Cuisine.

The three-day event (Sept. 24-26) will feature a golf tournament with fantastic prizes, a variety of tastings, chef demonstrations, wine seminars and full-blown feasts.

Situated halfway between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa is home to a world-class 18-hole golf course managed by Troon Golf.

On Saturday morning, golfers will take to the lush links for "Tastings on the Tee." Beer, wine, Bloody Mary's and scrumptious sampling bites will be available at every turn. Golfers will have a chance to win various prizes, including a car should they sink a hole-in-one. One foursome will receive the grand prize - a trip to charming Charleston, South Carolina.

The festivities being on Friday evening with the "Uncorked, Unplugged and Unabashed" Royal Tasting at the Diplomat Landing on the Intracoastal Waterway. The weekend's highlight will be a "gastronomic showcase," hosted by the resort's Executive Chef David Hackett. A pre-show reception will set the stage for a six-course smorgasbord showcasing culinary talents from across America.

Crush & Cuisine is "More Than just Good Wine." The event will be offering several educational seminars. Experience hands-on intercation with chefs, discover the art of Blending, and understand the nuances of olive oil grades and the complexities of Balsamic vinegars.
