Golfer's Guide National Team Classic, February 20th - 23rd, 2011

Golf, Gaming and Good Times Come Together

Golfer’s Guide National Team Classic Golfer’s Guide Magazine is teaming with Harrahs Entertainment and some of the finest golf courses in Las Vegas to offer its readers a memorable event that combines competitive golf and gaming into one memorable four-day Vegas vacation.

The inaugural Golfer’s Guide National Team Classic tees off this coming February on three of the best courses in the Las Vegas area, bringing a unique and entertaining event to one of the boldest cites in the world.

With competition beginning Feb. 21, family, friends and even foes will have the opportunity to team up over three rounds of 2-man competition in betterball, alternate shot and captain’s choice formats. The tournament will be staged at the famed Rio Secco Golf Club, Arroyo Golf Club at Red Rock and Siena Golf Club, all of which provide the unrivaled scenery, challenge and fun that golf in Las Vegas is known for.

When away from the golf course, the National Team Classic home base will be The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, where gaming and partying will be in full swing. All tournament participants receive four nights at the luxurious casino and one free entrant into a $10,000 Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament following the first day of competition (Monday, Feb. 21).

Each contestant will receive $4,000 in tournament chips with optional buyins during the first hour of the poker tournament. The winner will take home, or at the very least to the gaming floor, $2,600 with the runner up pocketing $2,000. In addition to the tournament, Golfer’s Guide will host a welcome reception on Sunday, Feb. 20 and a tournament-ending awards party on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

For the most avid golfers, however, the real action will take place on the terrific links of Rio Secco, Siena and Arroyo. Surrounded by the towering Spring Mountains, Sienna features gently rolling fairways and artful bunkering, as well as stunning views of the Vegas skyline.

Arroyo, a sister course to Sienna, ribbons seamlessly through the rugged terrain of the fabulous Red Rock Canyon, one of Las Vegas most revered natural landmarks. For its part, Rio Secco is among the most acclaimed courses in the desert. Located at the base of Black Mountain, the course provides a world-class experience unlike any other off the Strip.

The cost of the event $1,999 per two-man team and includes three rounds of tournament play, four nights at the Rio, one entry into the poker tournament and two receptions.
