Bob VanSwedenBob VanSweden is the 2009 TaylorMade National Club Fitter of the Year.

As part of the celebration and his further education, Bob enjoyed an all-expenses paid trip to TaylorMade’s headquarters in Carlsbad, CA last summer.

Bob met with all the movers and shakers at TaylorMade and was briefed on all phases of their operations.

Among the highlights:

  • Shadowing staff in the Tour Department while they built clubs for Tour players.
  • Learning new methods of fitting golf clubs and putters.
  • Learning how to custom grind wedges.
  • Training on use of FlightScope launch monitor.
  • Tour of Fujikura shaft plant.
  • Getting fitted at “The Kingdom” (test & fitting center) for a complete set of clubs.
  • Learning about engineering and design behind Addidas shoes and clothing.
  • Spending time in Putting Lab with Kia Ma and Duane Anderson learning how putters perform and how to fit putters.

All this up close and personal training makes Bob a uniquely qualified club fitter. With the use of FlightScope – the most advanced launch monitor available – he will custom fit you with clubs that will make the game all the more enjoyable.
