Ridge Manor Oaks Now Open And Under New Ownership

Formerly Whispering Oaks Country Club, Ridge Manor Oaks Golf & Country Club has under new ownership. The course reopened in early November 2009 after being closed for nearly two years. Bob Carson, a former PGA and Champions Tour player, is the new owner as well as General Manager and Director of Golf.

All eighteen greens have been completely redesigned and rebuilt to USGA specifications. The par 72 championship layout, originally designed by Hans Schmeisser, stretches out to over 6,400 yards with a rating of 71.9 and slope of 128. One great feature of the course is that the two nines each have a different look and architectural style. The Oaks Nine features narrow tree-lined fairways, while the Dunes Nine features a more open look, with dunes and links-style grasses bordering most fairways.

Ridge Manor Oaks G&CC is located in Ridge Manor, just east of I-75, about 40 minutes north of Tampa (Hwy. 50 Exit). To reserve a tee time, call (352) 608-4800. For more information, visit www.ridgemanoroaksgolf.com or e-mail: tcarson6565@msn.com.
