Tampa Bay's Special Event of the Year

The 2011 Transitions Championship has been votedTampaBays Professional SpecialEvent of the Year in an on-line poll conducted by the Tampa Bay SportsCommission (TBSC). The award came in conjunction with theTBSCs inaugural Sneaker Soiree held on June 2.

The Transitions Championship was the publicschoice in a field of nine events including the playoffs for the Rays, Stormand Lightning. Other nominees included the Buccaneers Season Kickoff Party,the Honda Grand Prix ofSt.Petersburg, Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am and theYankees spring training opener.

We are extremely honored to have been the choice,and thank the Tampa Bay Sports Commission for this award, says David Robbins, General Chairman of the Copperheads who host the event each March. Rising star Gary Woodland earned his first PGA TOURtitle by winning the 2011 Transitions Championship on the Copperhead Courseat Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort, in Palm Harbor.
