World Woods Re-Opens - Renovated Rolling Oaks Course

World Woods Re-Opens - Renovated Rolling Oaks CourseWorld Woods Golf Club took one more step this past summer toward meeting its goal of being the Southeast’s best 36-hole golf complex. The Rolling Oaks Course, closed since June 1, reopens November 1 after a complete renovation.

“Both courses at World Woods are in the best condition that I’ve ever seen them in since opening the facility in 1993,” said General Manager and Director of Golf Stan Cooke. “My commitment to all customers is that your next World Woods experience will be extraordinary with customer satisfaction guaranteed.”

The greens on Rolling Oaks have been re-surfaced with TifEagle Bermudagrass, chosen according to Cooke because “Tifeagle best suits the topography and character of Rolling Oaks. TifEagle is the proven grass with no mutations based on all the choices we tested.”

While Rolling Oaks contouring remains the same, the greens have been restored to their original size. This is a 20 percent expansion in the size of the greens prior to renovations.

The Pine Barrens course remains a par-71 and Rolling Oaks remains a par-72, but both courses have extensive new teeing grounds resulting in extended yardages for both courses.

Pine Barren’s greens remain in immaculate condition. With the renovation, Rolling Oaks greens will run as true and as fast as those on Pine Barrens.

World Woods has also added new cart paths throughout the facility and a new fleet of golf carts. The clubhouse has been totally refurbished and course restroom facilities have been renovated as well.
