The coastal scenery is magnificent especially from the 4th through the 11th passing the famous landmark lighthouse at the turn. This is a demanding links, and an ever present wind will make for a tough examination of your golfing skills. In 2009, the Ailsa Course hosted the Open Championship for the 4th time when golfing legend Tom Watson lost out to Stewart Cink in a play off for the Claret Jug. Day 4
Make your way to your chosen golf course. 40mins Play today at Prestwick (tbc), which occupies a unique niche in golfing history. Day 6
Make your way to your chosen golf course. 30mins Golf today on Royal Dornoch (tbc). You have the opportunity to play the most northerly of the Championship courses of the British Isles. Dornoch is perhaps more than most, a thinking golfers' course where it is not enough simply to keep the ball on the fairway. The greens are generally open in the front, but they are also set on plateaux several feet above the fairway, a feature that Donald Ross took from his home course and used on many of his classic designs. A very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist. Please note strict handicap limits are set and enforced by the club. Men 24 & Ladies 35. We invite you to view a video of the course click here. Set along the shores of the Moray Firth to east of Inverness with wonderful views over to the Black Isle. Six holes hug the shoreline while the remaining holes are played over a terraced slope so views out to sea are ever present. A true links course in every sense. In most cases, changes cannot be made less than 60 days before travel.
Handicap Certificate: Most courses require visitors to be a member of a recognized golf club and to hold official handicaps, with some courses imposing a maximum handicap restriction. PerryGolf endorses this viewpoint and recommends that players travel with a valid handicap certificate from their golf club which they may be required to produce.
Portable GPS Navigator: GPS systems are available for hire through National Car Rental at most major rental branches. Please check with your Agent for rates and locations.
Prestwick: The club welcomes both gentlemen and lady visitors alike. It should be noted that due to a number of long carries over gorse and heather the course plays particularly difficult for ladies.
